Economic News Events
Last updated February 10, 2024
TradeStory is plugged into a live economic events feed that you can take advantage of. This covers all economic events globally published across all publicly available calendars. So whatever your market, currency or impact level, you can be sure to catch it using this Economic News Events Condition.
This condition works by checking if there are any economic events within a time frame you specify, for impact levels you specify, on currencies you specify, across any countries you specify. Additionally this condition also allows you to filter any published news events that contain a collection of keywords that you supply.
If this condition finds any events using your filters, then it returns true (the condition passes).
Click on any of the items within the condition to open the options.
Impact Levels, Currencies, Countries and Keywords can be added in the settings panel by typing your values and clicking on the Add button for each section. The condition will visually update showing you what filters you are using.
For example - the following will return a passing condition if any high impact events for USD and GBP are happening today that also have keywords FOMC in their title.
To remove any of your filters, simply click on the x section of each filter tag.
News Impact Levels
News is categorized into 2 levels - High, Medium and Low.
Filtering news within dates.
By default the condition will attempt to find news events for Today. You have other options also to select from. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Relative.
Relative Dates
If you select the ‘Relative’ date option you will be able to filter news events by more fine tunes intervals. For example, the below shows a filter for events that happened within the last 15 minutes and upcoming events in the next 15 minutes.
Dates are relative to the time when the Story is being executed.
Upcoming events only
You can tick the Upcoming events option if you only want the condition to look ahead for upcoming events only - not in the past.
